At Band Registration in 2009 a band family paid for their entire band fees with one ziplock bag of old and broken gold jewelry. The Gold Fund Raiser is again being offered to band families as an easy way to help you pay band fees and next year's band trip costs.

A&M Jewelers will have a table at Band Registration on April 22, 24 and 27. Simply bring in your old or broken gold jewelry and they will give you money, on the spot, to put toward your band fees.

Next year the Sprayberry Band will be traveling to New York and Washington D.C.! We will be performing in the National Cherry Blossom Parade in downtown Washington on Saturday, April 9th, and will use the opportunity to visit two of Americaʼs most dynamic cities! Preliminary information is listed below so you can begin to make your plans! Donʼt miss this wonderful opportunity to travel with the Sprayberry Band!

When: Tuesday, April 5 - Sunday, April 10, 2011 (During Spring Break)

Who: The Sprayberry High School Marching Band and Family Members

Where: New York City and Washington D.C. We will visit the following attractions and events: Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty; Times Square; “Phantom of the Opera” and “Wicked” on Broadway; Planet Hollywood; City Tour of New York; Rockefeller Center; Radio City Music Hall Backstage Tour; St. Patrickʼs Cathedral; Madame Tussauds; Bubba Gumpʼs in New York. Fort McHenry; Pentagon City; National Monuments Illumination Tour; Arlington Cemetary; Dinner/Dance Cruise on the Potomac River in Washington D.C.

Why: To participate in the 2011 National Cherry Blossom Parade and to give our students the opportunity to visit two of Americaʼs most important cities.

Cost: The exact cost will not be determined until we know the exact number of people who will be traveling with us. However, the quad rate (4 to a room) will most likely be between $1,000.00 and $1,090.00. This will include all travel, all meals, all broadway shows, and admission to all of the various attractions we will be visiting. All students attending will pay this rate!

Adults only may choose to purchase a double or single room. Rates for a double room (2 to a room) will be between $1,110.00 - $1,200.00. Single room packages may be purchased for between $1,350.00 and $1,425.00.

Payments will be due according to a pre-determined schedule over a 10 month period. The initial deposit of $150.00 must be made by May 28, and final payments will be due on March 4, 2011. The exact payment schedule will be announced soon so you can plan ahead!

To help offset the cost, the Sprayberry Band will be offering multiple fundraising opportunities, including ongoing events like Rome Braves and Georgia Tech Concessions. Anyone who works these events will be able to earn money that can be applied toward the cost of the trip. Since we have a year to raise funds, much of the money needed for the trip could potentially be raised through fundraising!!! If you would like more information about fundraising, please contact fundraising@sprayberryband.com. These fund raising opportunities have already started and you may begin right away!

Is the band trip just for students? No! We would like to invite any parents and family members to attend the trip with us. Family members traveling with the band will not be allowed to make changes to the itinerary or pricing, and will need to attend all events with the band. Also, if a non-band student is attending, a parent must attend with them. However, this is a great opportunity to tour 2 great cities for a GREAT PRICE and see the band perform in Washington D.C.!

How to registered for the Trip: The sign up and all payments for the trip will be done using our tour companyʼs website. This will allow each family the ability to take care of all trip related details at home by using the internet, including all payments. This website will be announced following Spring Break.

Please make plans to attend this once in a lifetime trip with the Sprayberry Band!
