The Band of Gold is in need of someone to assist in
organizing our BIRDIES 4 CHARITY fundraiser. Birdies 4 Charity is
sponsored by Bellsouth and the Bellsouth Classic Golf Tournament. Please

8th Graders are Coming!!
And we are
VERY excited about the new group that will be arriving at Sprayberry in the Fall
of 2007! Thank you to Debbie Vonderohe,
Barbara Beaver and Jane Sprague for volunteering to make calls. I still
need 7
more current band parents to
make about 10 calls to the 8th grade parents in the coming month to
personally invite them to the
Incoming Freshman Informational Meeting on February 5. We want to make sure we get as
many there as possible to spread the news of how great being in high school band
is for their kids. You’ll be given information to convey, so don’t worry about
what to say.

HOSPITALITY:
The
Incoming Freshman Informational Meeting will be held on Monday, February 5,
2007
in the Band
Room. This is a very special night for our 8th graders from
Daniell, Simpson
and
McCleskey middle schools as they consider “Marching & Concert Band” during
their 9th
grade year
(wasn’t that long ago our students were
incoming….remember?).
Hospitality
will set up a refreshment table to welcome students and parents
attending.
If you are
able to donate any of the following, please contact me for drop off time
and

calendar now! Our festival performance is our End of Course testing, so it
is extremely important that we are prepared. These rehearsals will
compliment our in-class rehearsals, and will give us more time to prepare our
concert program. Attendance at these rehearsals is expected of every
student in the ensemble.

–Concert Festival Concert Band
will perform Thursday evening (March 22), and Symphonic II & I Band
throughout the day on Friday (March 23). These times are subject to
change since we are requesting to perform on the 22nd and
23rd due to Prom. Please be mindful of making plans
during these days, this is our equivalent to our End of Course
Testing. This is a major part of our program and we need every
student in attendance at these events. | |||||
