Sprayberry Band is now on Twitter! Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read other users' updates known as tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length which are displayed on the user's profile page and delivered to other users who have subscribed to them (known as followers). Sprayberry Band of Gold now has a "private" Twitter account named SprayberryBOG. Interested band parents and students may request to "follow" the Band's Twitter to keep up-to-date with band activities, last minute updates, and get important information from the Band Directors. If you already have a Twitter account simply send a "request" to follow SprayberryBOG. Please make sure you identify yourself as a Sprayberry Band parent or student so the Directors know who is sending the request. If you do not yet have a Twitter account it is easy to create one...and it is FREE! 1. Go to www.Twitter.com and create an account using the simple registration form. For privacy issues the Band Directors suggest that you do not use your real full name as your account username. However, it would be nice if they could recognize you as a Sprayberry Band parent or student.
2. Once you are registered, login to Twitter. Then enter the following address in your web browser: http://twitter.com/sprayberryBOG 3. Once that screen loads you will see the following message... "This person has protected their updates. You need to send a request before you can start following this person." Simply press "send request" and a request will be sent to Mr. Esserwein. Once he accepts your request you will be able to see and reply to the Band's Twitter status updates. You can even customize your Twitter account to send you notifications of SprayberryBOG updates through email as they are posted! SO COME TWEET WITH SPRAYBERRY BAND! |
