Awards

FESTIVAL

In the morning Festival, Bands will be awarded ratings of Superior (I), Excellent (II), Good (III), Fair (IV) or Poor (V) based on their overall performance. Ratings will be given in Percussion, Colorguard, Auxiliaries, Drum Major and Overall Band, with a trophy given for each rating. For the Overall Band category, the rating will be the average scores of Five Band Judges.

COMPETITION

Awards will be given within classification and within division. For Overall Band Awards, Caption Judging will be utilized, with 2 judges evaluating Music Performance, 2 judges evaluating Visual Performance, and 2 judges evaluating General Effect. Scores in each of these captions will be averaged. These scores will then be weighted using the following percentages: Music Performance - 40%, Visual Performance - 25%, General Effect - 35% to give Overall Band Score.

For Colorguard, Percussion and Drum Major, one judge will evaluate each performance and award a score out of 100.

Based on these scores, awards in each Classification (A, AA, AAA, AAAA, OPEN) will be given as follows:

Most Outstanding Colorguard, Percussion, Drum Major and Majorette
1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Overall Band (All Bands not receiving a 1st, 2nd or 3rd Place Overall Band Award will receive an Outstanding Performance Award)

Awards in each Division (Silver, Gold, Open) will be given as follows:

Most Outstanding Colorguard, Percussion, Drum Major and Majorette
Most Outstanding Music Performance
Most Outstanding Visual Performance
Most Outstanding General Effect
Grand Champion

Finally, we will present the following awards to band with the highest score in each category regardless of class or division:
